Had a good look around at the google tools :
Google Books : I actually found the complete contents of a 1858 publication, "Bayexu Tapestry, an historical tale of the 11th century, from the French of Madam Emmt" , also has some great illustrations...what a find! I have to explore google books some more to compare with other search engines.
Google Maps : I hadn't used Google Maps before so was excited to have a look. Looked up hotels in Brunswick and narrowed down by selecting the category Hotels and Pubs - could also narrow down by cuisine and rating..resulting map showing all the hotels listed alphabetically with the corresponding letter on the map. Did everyone else find 10?
Looked up my address by putting my street name, number, post code & Victoria. Came up with my address with a map and photo (photo must be at least a year old as my old car is in the street). I navigated around to look at the surrounding areas, had fun zooming in and out.
I then looked up my work address, found it but it didn't have a photo but it did have a map. I was interested to see that from here I could access the College web page, there was also more information available in the "more information" area. 53 college related web pages were listed.. Things like our ASM details....I didn't realise so much was available here.
I then got the directions from work to home. It did give me the worst possible route, even though probably the most direct (I wouldn't go that way as very heavy traffic), oh well, I don't suppose the map knows that. I clicked on the "photo" to show me the roads as I travelled..I also notice that you can put Google Map on your phone.
Google Doc & Spreadsheet : had a quick look around here and did put a few documents in. Having trouble with our Council at the moment so setting up some folders with the different areas we are dealing with. I like the spread sheet and I think I can use it for organising events etc.
Also I can't wait to try out the Translation page.
I beginning to realise how all these different google tools come together.. ...
